Green Party of Pennsylvania Email List Guidelines
Members to the main state party lists will be expected to understand and follow these guidelines for usage. Those who do not will receive warning from the community of list users and their list privileges may be limited, suspended or revoked by the state committee. Official members of the Green Party of Pennsylvania will have the right to appeal this decision.
A de-listed person will not be re-listed without the approval of the Steering Committee by contacting the State Chairperson.
- Users will indemnify the Green Party of Pennsylvania.
- User postings will be expected to comply with the Ten Key Values.
- Users will agree to take personal responsibility for their membership and postings.
- Users should provide a name and e-mail address as part of their message.
- Users will refrain from libel and slander and will strive to avoid "ad hominem" attacks directed at an individual rather than their ideas.
- Users will avoid posting anything that is of a confidential nature such as any party members' personal lives or discussions from in camera meetings. Users will also be conscientious about personal information, such as addresses, phone numbers, etc. that they express through the list knowing that list may be archived and publicly accessible through search engines or forwarded.
- Users should refrain from language that demeans others individually or as part of an identifiable group (i.e. language that is racist, sexist or other personally derogatory language).
- Users should try to keep their posts topical and relevant to the thread of discussion and list purpose as a whole. Subject lines should reflect the subject of the message. Forwards are acceptable but should be relevant the Green Party and its values.
- Users will be mindful of the limitations of other's e-mail clients. Message size should be reasonable; lengthy articles should be referenced where they exist on other web sites instead of quoted. Attachments should be avoided unless absolutely necessary. Message formats should be accessible to visually impaired readers.
Committee lists may amend these rules according to their needs.
