Responding to President Obama's address to the nation, Greens demand real peace, not just partial troop draw-down, and urge protest against 'mercenary occupation' of Iraq
WASHINGTON, DC -- The Green Party of the United States responded to President Obama's Oval Office address to the nation on Tuesday, August 31, with a call for Americans who oppose the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to press for a complete withdrawal of US forces from both countries and a halt to attacks inside Pakistan's borders.

• Greens urge Obama to press for an investigation, citing obstruction, violence against opposition parties by the Rwanda government
WASHINGTON, DC -- The Green Party of the United States expressed shock and sadness over news of the barbaric killing of André Kagwa Rwisereka, Vice President of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda (http://www.rwandagreendemocrats.org). Mr. Rwisereka's body, discovered July 14 after he was missing for several days, showed evidence of murder.

Green Party and Progressive Democrat Leaders, Community Organizers and Others to Talk Joint Political Strategy at US Social Forum June 24th
Five organizations have collaborated to organize a “progressive strategy dialogue” at the United States Social Forum (http://www.ussf2010.org) in Detroit, Michigan. The dialogue will be one of 50 People’s Movement Assemblies during the USSF. It will take place on Thursday afternoon, June 24th, from 1 to 5:30 pm in Cobo Hall, room W2-67.
