2021 Candidates

Borough Council: Dormont, PA

Ward Allebach(Allegheny)

Ward Allebach has been Adjunct Faculty in the Environmental Studies program at the University of Pittsburgh since 2002, teaching primarily sustainability and environmental advocacy courses. A 1995 graduate of the Master of Science program in environmental studies at California State University, Fullerton, Allebach received a Bachelor of Arts in journalism in 1988 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In 2000, he co-founded Education.org, a business which includes EnviroEducation.com and many other web sites designed to help students find higher education opportunities; EnviroEducation.com focused on those seeking education in any environmental field. Allebach has been volunteer president of the Bradford Woods Conservancy since 2009 and has been active with Citizens for Pennsylvania's Future, the North Area Environmental Council, the Pine Creek Watershed Coalition, the Pittsburgh Vegetarian Society, and the Keep Antibiotics Working Campaign.

I am running for Borough Council in Bradford Woods because I believe that we need more representatives who better understand the many threats to the ecology of our wooded community. From deer overpopulation to invasive species and dwindling biodiversity, we may not have much woods in the near future if we do not act to protect them now.
